Not Yet Done

Not Yet Done

I am the story they haven't told

The song we shouldn't sing

The game you forgot to play

I am the walk that's still to be had

The drink yet to be imbibed

The meal still to be cooked

I am the man hiding in a boy

The woman silenced as a girl

The children now scattered and lost

In this fire pit I still smoke

A glowing ember

Not out yet

Still smouldering

Promising

A flame yet to blaze

Yet still I may become

The rainbow after the storm

The handshake that stops the fight

A hope, possibly

Even a heartfelt embrace

A burning honesty

Open enough at last

For this continuing truth
