After Midnight’s Deeper Sleep

After Midnight’s Deeper Sleep

Now.

Closer to midnight

I fret.

Sensing that soon

This Search

Must end

and there will not again

Be, the choice

This Quest

Must pass to Another.

Even Now.

Seeing that My Reckoning

Having not happened

This Darkening

Must once again be left

To be Happily

Undone.

So Now.

I Am,

May yet give Me Away

Free to Speed

To let tired grip slip

Mercifully, Silently

Towards an even deeper

Deepening.

Sleep.
