Glimmer

Glimmer

In today's glimmer

Is the flight of an escaping heart

Fleeing an eclipsing past

Searching for a worthy soul

With whom to ponder

The musings of a wonderous universe.

In tonight's shimmer

Is the return of a hoping spirit

Seeking silently for a friend

To brave the depths of these blackest holes

A courageous venture of light

Into the dark night of an unknown galaxy.

Tomorrow's mummering

May herald the end of thankless yearnings

A time to pause...

Finally to face that day

When we can release into doom

Frantic fretting and tiresome frowning

So in mysterious history

Remains our still steadfast faith

That in truths still hidden

Lie safe the birth secrets of life

Beauties concealed beyond ancient time

Enfolded in this moment

Pulsing, spirited, and precious

The life-giving gasp of a first breath
